Cablelynx Digital Phone is a residential telephone service. It is a technology that allows you to make and receive phone calls and faxes over the Internet instead of through the telephone network. Just like conventional telephone service, you can call anyone, anywhere in the continental United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, reliably and easily, but for the same rate, no matter whom you call or how long you talk.
Can Cablelynx Digital Phone replace residential phone service?
Cablelynx Digital Phone offers both local and long distance service; it can completely replace residential telephone or you can use this service with your current telephone service.
Can I get Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Yes, if you subscribe to Cablelynx High-speed Internet and live within our service area.
Is there a fee to switch to Cablelynx Digital Phone?
No, there is no charge for switching to Cablelynx Digital Phone. Installation is free at this time.
Can I keep my current phone number?
You can keep your existing phone number and continue to receive calls from your family and friends without having to notify them of a new telephone number. Cablelynx would need to verify that your number may be ported prior to moving it to our service.
Can I call 911 using Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Yes, absolutely. Safety is an important consideration and Cablelynx Digital Phone provides enhanced 911 service. Please note that if there is a power outage that affects your cable signal, your Digital Phone service will not be available until the power is restored.
Can I choose my own long distance carrier?
By subscribing to Cablelynx digital phone, you are choosing Cablelynx as your long distance carrier.
Will my fax machine work with Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Yes. Almost all standard fax machines will work with Cablelynx Digital Phone as long as they are set for tone dialing.
Can I make International calls with Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Yes. Calls to international locations would be dialed like you normally would (for example: 011 + country code + city code + local number of the person you are trying to reach). These calls are billed as “additional charges” and the details can be viewed at http://mydigitalphone.cablelynx.com
Can I use my calling card for long distance calls?
Yes, but you might not have to use calling cards anymore. The Cablelynx Digital Phone calling plan includes unlimited long distance calling in the 50 United States, as well as Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Island, for one simple monthly price as low as $39.95; therefore, your calling card should only be used away from home now!
Does Cablelynx Digital Phone offer Voice Mail?
We offer voice mail at no extra charge so you can receive messages while you are away from home or your telephone.
Does Cablelynx Digital Phone include Calling Waiting and Caller ID?
Cablelynx Digital Phone includes call waiting and caller ID at no extra charge to you.
Can I use Cablelynx Digital Phone for my business?
No, Cablelynx Digital Phone is a residential telephone service.
Should I disconnect my current phone service?
If you plan to keep your current telephone number (i.e., port your number) you should not contact your current phone service provider, as we will do that for you. You will continue to have service from your current phone provider until we complete your Cablelynx Digital Phone installation. Once the installation is complete and your phone number is successfully transferred, we will contact your current phone service provider to ensure your previous phone service is disconnected.
Does Cablelynx Digital Phone require a special telephone?
Any standard touch-tone or dial telephone works with Cablelynx Digital Phone. Most answering machines, fax machines and caller ID displays work with our service.
Can I use my existing cordless home phone?
Yes. Cordless phones work with Cablelynx Digital Phone service.
What equipment do I need for Cablelynx Digital Phone calls?
Cablelynx Digital Phone requires that you have your own phones and a Digital Phone modem that is supplied with your phone service; therefore, as long as you currently have a phone, there is nothing else you need.
How do I make a Cablelynx Digital Phone call?
Making a Cablelynx Digital Phone call is no different from using any other telephone service.
Will I have to keep the Digital Phone modem in a specific location?
The Digital Phone modem will need to remain near your computer to allow access to the Internet.
Can I install Cablelynx Digital Phone myself?
A Cablelynx Digital Phone technician must install this service.
Can I Use My Computer While Making/Receiving Calls?
Yes. Your high-speed modem will allow you to access the Internet and talk on the phone at the same time because each feature of your modem is independent.
Does My Computer Need To Be Turned On?
No, but your Internet connection needs to be working.
How long will it take for my Cablelynx Digital Phone service to be installed?
We are typically able to schedule the installation within 8 -14 business days from the date order is taken.
Do I need to be home for the installation of Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Yes. You must be present during installation for the technician to effectively complete the installation and test your phone service.
How long does it take to install Cablelynx Digital Phone?
A typical installation takes approximately 90-120 minutes.
Are there any extra charges for Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Calls made to international locations, directory assistance or operator services will be billed per use.
Do you offer calling cards?
No. Cablelynx Digital Phone does not offer a calling card at this time.
How will Cablelynx Digital Phone be billed?
Your Cablelynx Digital Phone calling plan charges will appear on the monthly statement you receive for cable TV. Additional charges for any international calls, Directory Assistance and Operator Services will appear as a separate line item on the same bill.
Will I receive a separate statement for Cablelynx Digital Phone?
Cablelynx Digital Phone will appear as a line item on your monthly cable statement.
Will I get a detailed breakdown of call activity with Cablelynx Digital Phone?

Will my number be listed in the phone book?
Yes, unless you request one of the following specialized directory listing services which are available for a monthly charge:
1. A 'non-listed' telephone number is not listed in the phone book, but will be available through Directory Assistance.
2. A 'non-published' telephone number is not available in either the phone book or through Directory Assistance.
